How do I scan a product?

Open the Scan tab and point your camera at a barcode, or switch to photo mode to capture an ingredient label for analysis.

Why does a result show halal, haram, mushbooh, or unknown?

Results are based on the product data available to the app and the ingredient analysis returned by our systems. When the four major Sunni schools of Islamic jurisprudence disagree on an ingredient, we use the position held by the majority (3 of 4); when there is no clear majority, we default to "mushbooh" (doubtful).

Is the app a definitive religious ruling?

No. HalalSafe provides informational guidance only. It is not a fatwa and should not replace consultation with a qualified scholar.
